About RHCP history

Red Hot Chili Peppers, American rock group.new wave, funk, rap and heavy metal, the band was consolidated in the early 1990s as a leading U.S. independent formations.

Founded in 1983 in Los Angeles by Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Cliff Martinez (drums), Hillel Slovak (guitar) and Michael "Flea" Balzary (bass), the band made its first appearance in 1983 with an a capella version of his song "Out in LA". Thanks to the spectacular stage productions and explosive mix of elements from the most varied styles, soon found its way into the world of rock of Los Angeles. The production of his first album, Red Hot Chili Peppers (1984), and the single "True Men Do not Kill Coyotes" was performed by guitarist Andrew Gill. This first LP received criticism from the same satisfaction that the following work, Freaky Styley (1985), produced by the famous musician George Clinton, who with their hard bass melodies, strong percussion and distorted guitar chords represents a step forward in the evolution of Red Hot Chili Peppers. The third album, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan (1987), surpassed even the success of the previous two. The album Abbey Road (1988) refers to familiar on the cover of The Beatles' self-titled album. In 1988 drummer Cliff Martinez was replaced by Jack Irons. Hillel Slovak died in June of that year, the victim of a heroin overdose.

During the 1990s his place was taken by different guitarists, as John Frusciante and Dave Navarro. The LP Mother's Milk (1989) star contains a version of the song "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder, and "Fire" by Jimi Hendrix. The biggest commercial success came with the band Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991), won several platinum albums, this album contains the hits "Give It Away" and "Under the Bridge". The album One Hot Minute (1995) included the famous song "Aeroplane" and showed the band at the peak of his career. Later appeared Under the Covers (1998), a collection of songs star, Californication (1999), in which John Frusciante returned to act as a guitarist, By the Way (2002) and several live albums.

Confirmation of Klinghoffer joining the group comes from the guitarist himself, who emailed the previous owner of his website to state that yes, he is now indeed a Pepper.

Somewhat surprisingly, the band themselves have yet to issue any kind of formal statement about either Frusciante or Klinghoffer. But with their scheduled appearance at the 2010 MusicCares Person Of The Year tribute to Neil Youngjust weeks away, we're expecting an announcement soon.
